PETALING JAYA: A photo of a man fleeing the London Bridge terror attacks with his pint of beer in hand has gone viral.

The photo was uploaded to Twitter by Howard Mannella on his account @hmannella on Sunday with the caption "People fleeing #LondonBridge but the bloke on the right isn't spilling a drop. God Bless the Brits!"

The photo was then met with classic British humour by other Twitter users like Jennifer Kirby, who said on her @Jenni__Mari account that "people are hating on this bloke but after the scare he's had he'll need that beer!"

Another Twitter user - Sgt.Big_Bubbles! - said on his account @Big_Bubbaloola that "the people hating on this guy are blatantly NOT British. We find this a) funny and b) admirable", while Sarah Hallahan said via @SarahHallahan1 that "nobody is ignoring the spilt blood but humour gives us the strength to fight for those who were hurt and killed. It's just how we do it here."

Seven people were killed when three assailants smashed a van into pedestrians on London Bridge before attacking revellers in a popular nightlife hub with knives.

The attack came only minutes after the end of the Champions League final between Juventus and Real Madrid and in an area teeming with bars where many fans were watching the football match on television.

Britain was already on high alert following the attack at the end of a concert by US pop star Ariana Grande in Manchester, northwest England, on May 22.

It is the latest in a string of attacks to hit Europe, including in Paris, Berlin and Saint Petersburg.
