Two teenagers found drowned in Simpang Pulai

IPOH: Two teenagers drowned when they fell into a river at Kg Juang in Simpang Pulai on Monday afternoon. 

A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the victims were identified as 17-year-old Mohd Izani Saiful Amir and 15-year-old Fazlina Fauzi Amir. 

He said a distress call was received at 1.54pm and the operation to retrieve the bodies was completed at 4.12pm.

"Our personnel used a grappling iron to pull the victims up, and bring them to the river bank," he said.

Both bodies have been sent to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun for a post-mortem.
