Najib condemns militant attack in Marawi City


KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has condemned the attack in Marawi City, Philippines, by groups linked to Islamic State that led to casualties among government forces.

Najib said Malaysia had full confidence in the Philippines' handling of the crisis and will offer its full support.

"The crisis shall not derail the ongoing Mindanao peace process," he said on Twitter and Facebook.

Martial law has been declared in Mindanao following heavy clashes between Filipino government troops and militants in Mindanao's Marawi city.  - Bernama
