Adam Rosly charged with giving false statements, forged documents to authorities

KUALA LUMPUR: Ampang PKR Youth chief Datuk Adam Rosly has been charged at the Sessions Court here with giving false statements and forged documents to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers in the course of their investigations.

Adam, 29, pleaded not guilty to all charges when they were read out to him on Friday.

Sessions Court judge Allaudeen Ismail set bail at RM300,000 in one surety for all offences.

He is alleged to have committed the offences on Feb 10 and Feb 22.

On April 13, he was detained after his statement was recorded at MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.

Adam, the special officer to Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin, was first questioned by the MACC on Feb 10.

His wealth came into the limelight after Red Shirts leader Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos questioned how he was able to own a castle-style bungalow in Ampang at such a young age.

Adam claimed that he had amassed his wealth through business ventures and inheritance from his family.

He said his Datukship was from Pahang for his contributions to several projects in the state.
