Lorry driver pleads for Indonesian wife to return home with their son

KUALA LUMPUR: A lorry driver is pleading for information on his wife and son in yet another case of a runaway foreign spouse.

Lam Ah Choy, 58, said this is not the first time that his Indonesian wife Nadia Kristiana, 36, had run away with their six-year-old son Kim Ming.

"I married Nadia on April 26, 2010, and a year later during Christmas she tried to take him back to her hometown in Indonesia.

"She was found by police four days later in Rawang and we were reunited," he said at the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department here Tuesday.

He said the next incident was five years later.

"She took our son away but left their identification documents.

"Four months later, I receive a call from a woman claiming to be Nadia's friend. She said she had information on my wife and child but asked for about RM5,000 so she could bring them back to me," he said, adding that he refused to pay and lodged a police report.

He said his wife and son were sent back to him by two men on June 28, who asked him to withdraw the police report.

"Two days later, while I was away at a coffee shop, she ran away again with our son.

"I found them near an apartment in Cheras Perdana when I saw a man sending them there at around 9pm on July 7.

"Twenty minutes later they left the place and I have not seen them since," he said, adding that he feared for their safety.

Lam pleaded with Nadia to return home with their son.
