Woman lifts gas tanks to keep fit

FORGET fancy dumbells or whatnots. A woman in Bachok, Kelantan lifts gas tanks to keep fit.

Berita Harian reported that Nor Syarmimi Sallehudin, 23, is known as Gadis Tong Gas (Gas Tank Girl) after a video of her lifting such “weights” became viral.

“This exercise isn’t hard. Actually, you could save a lot of money,” she said.

Nor Syarmimi, who has spent four years as a trainer in several gymnasiums in Kota Baru, said she had adapted several exercise techniques using the gas tanks.

Apparently, she could do lunges, squats and deadlifts with the gas tank.

Nor Syarmimi, who has a diploma in physiotherapy, would also use lorry tyres that weigh 80kg to exercise.

> Singaporean actress Elfaeza Ul Haq (pic) will not give up her search for jobs in Malaysia despite a lack of offers for now, reported Berita Harian.

Still determined: Elfaeza is not giving up on a job in Malaysia.

Elfaeza, 31, had been in the limelight of late when she decided to remove her headscarf to finish filming for a role in Tanglin, a Singaporean series.

This led to many negative comments against her.

Elfaeza, however, made it clear that she would not do so for any other acting role.

“I will never ever remove my headscarf again and go back to the way I was before. I don’t see it as a fashion statement. It is my belief,” she said.
