BANDA ACEH: Terrified residents rushed out of their homes and scrambled to safety as their houses and the buildings around them buckled and crumbled after an earthquake hit the seaside area of Meureudu.
“Everything was destroyed,” said Hasbi Jaya, who pulled his two children unconscious from the rubble of their home.
