The course turned out to be the best four years of my life. I met people who would turn out to be my closest friends, and had the chance to engage with and befriend students and lecturers of other nationalities which broadened my horizons and made me appreciate that for all our differences, we also have many similarities.
My Mandarin improved with help from my friends from China, while I helped them improve their command of English. I got to act in the annual plays held by the university’s Christian Fellowship, and to lead as president with the help of a great committee.
