Woman killed after crane part falls on car

KUALA LUMPUR: A 23-year-old woman died a week before her 24th birthday when part of a crane fell onto her car.

The victim, identified as Chin Khoon Sing (pic), from George Town, Penang, was driving along Jalan Raja Chulan at about 7.15pm yesterday when a piece of the construction crane fell from over 20 storeys.

Chin was killed instantly.

Her body was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for a post-mortem.

According to sources, police are recording a statement from the management in charge of the crane and the cause is being investigated.

Family members and friends of Chin were seen entering the hospital’s morgue but they declined to comment.
