Three seniors of an industrial training institute in Selandar, Malacca, were charged in a magistrate’s court with assaulting a junior. The victim was allegedly assaulted for not singing the Negaraku properly and failing to divulge details about his girlfriend.

Three students from a school in Bintulu, Sarawak, who kicked and punched to death a fellow classmate during a ragging-bullying incident three years ago were convicted of murder by the High Court. The three boys, however, escaped the gallows because they were juveniles, aged 16, when they committed the offence.

Five students of the Royal Military College in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur, have been detained over the death of a Form Four boy, allegedly due to severe ragging. The teenager was allegedly kicked in the abdomen while he was doing push-ups.

In an act known as the “Serdang heli”, three final-year students from UPM tied the penises of six juniors to the ceiling fan and switched it on. The juniors were also slapped repeatedly and forced to dance around naked.
