TUMPAT: A youth lost his life after falling off a boat, hitting its propeller, while out fishing with a friend at Pantai Geting here Wednesday night.

Tumpat District Police chief, Supt Supt Zaharudin Rasid said Mohammad Faiz Wahib, 18, and his friend Mohd Azwa Mat Nor, were believed to have failed to keep the boat on an even keel in strong winds, in the incident at 9.30pm.

"Mohd Azwa managed to save himself by clambering back into the boat but  Mohammad Faiz failed to do so as he had been struck by the boat propeller," he told reporters here, today.
