Baby girl found abandoned with note near oil palm tree

Malaysian palm oil futures extended gains on Thursday, climbing to the highest in more than two weeks with prices underpinned by strong demand of the vegetable oil.

KUANTAN: A month-old baby girl was found near an oil palm tree along the Sungai Lekok road, Lata Meraung near Jerantut on Monday night.

Jerantut police chief Superintendent Azid Ismail said the baby was believed to have been left by her mother since there was a note that read (take care of this child, her father died, I am Nuer Aini), along with RM15 cash and a picture of a man with the baby.
