One killed in gas explosion on tanker

BUTTERWORTH: A Myanmar national was killed and five other crew members injured in an explosion on a South Korean-owned tanker near the Bagan Dalam Deep Water Wharf here.

The vessel, Heung-A Pioneer, was on its way to Tanjung Dawai, Kedah, 30km west of Sungai Petani, when the blast, which is believed to have been triggered by a gas tank, occurred at about 10pm on Monday.
