KOTA KINABALU: Tawau residents received a rude awakening when the town was shaken by tremors from a nearby earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale in the wee hours of Monday.
The tremors hit at about 2.50am, with the epicentre of the earthquake just 96km west of Tawau in the town of Tarakan, Indonesia.
