PETALING JAYA: One of the 25 Malay personalities, who have urged the Government to start a rational dialogue on the position of Islam in Malaysia’s constitutional democracy, says the call reflects what the group believes is the view of the silent majority.

“What we want is to make Malaysians aware that this is a serious issue in the hope that they, too, will speak up and channel the view of the silent majority very clearly to our leaders,” said former Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Mohd Sheriff Mohd Kassim (pic).
