KL’s March inflation rate highest in country


Chief statistician Datuk Seri Mohd Uzir Mahidin(pic) said five out of the seven LI components contributed to the increase, with the highest contribution from real imports of semiconductors at 0.5%.

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur recorded the highest inflation rate in the country in March at 0.9% from a year ago, compared with the national average of 0.2%.

The Statistics Department said the higher inflation was due to a 4.2% increase in food and non-alcoholic beverages index.
