SEPANG: Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) will announce its potential business partners for its planned haj and umrah charter service by the first quarter of 2018.
Group chief executive officer Peter Bellew said MAB had held talks with several potential strategic partners on the project, and received positive feedback during a visit to Saudi Arabia last week.
“We will identify our potential partners) by the end of this year or the first quarter of next year. “We’re not in a particular rush. We don’t require any funding. “We’re continuing the dialogue and we will do,” said Bellew to reporters after attending the launch of Malaysia Airlines’ first in-house Innovation Lab, called iSpace, here.
The 8,300-sq ft facility, located at the KL International Airport’s Flight Management Building, was launched by Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau.
“I hope Malaysia Airlines will grow by leveraging on innovative technologies to provide more experimental and seamless travel for customers,” said Tangau in his speech.
