BHIC Aeroservices bags RM62.5m govt job to maintain 3 helicopters

BHIC Aeroservices to provide maintenance and logistics support services to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency's three copters.

KUALA LUMPUR: Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Bhd's (BHIC) subsidiary has secured a RM62.58mil government contract to provide maintenance and support services for three helicopters.

BHIC said on Thursday  BHIC Aeroservices Sdn Bhd will provide maintenance and logistics support services for three Dauphin AS365N3 helicopters which belong to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).

The 33 month contract took effect on Oct 1.

BHIC managing director and executive deputy chairman, Tan Sri Ahmad Ramli Mohd Nor said the award of the contract reflected the government's confidence in BHIC's ability to maintain assets critical to the nation's strategic interests.

"MMEA faces diverse challenges to ensure Malaysia's vast maritime zone is safe and secure. As such, it depends on helicopters and vessels being well-maintained and kept in tip-top condition to fulfil its responsibilities," said Ahmad Ramli.

BHIC Aeroservices is a joint venture between BHIC Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd (51%), which is a unit of BHIC, Prestige Pillar Sdn Bhd (30%) and Airbus Helicopter Malaysia Sdn Bhd (19%).
