Syed Faisal appointed Proton chairman


Proton Holdings Bhd chairman Datuk Seri Syed Faisal Albar said they want to turn Proton around as soon as possible.

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd has appointed Datuk Seri Syed Faisal Albar Syed Ali Rethza Albar as its Non-Executive Chairman effective Thursday, following the resignation of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on March 31, 2016.

In a statement, Proton said Syed Faisal Albar, who is group managing director of DRB-Hicom Bhd, would also assume the role of Group Lotus plc Chairman. 

"Among other key positions held by Syed Faisal Albar previously included group managing director of Pos Malaysia Bhd, executive director of Konsortium Logistik Bhd, CEO of Malakoff Corporation Bhd and CEO of Gas Malaysia Bhd.

"His experience and proven track record in growing revenue and profitability will be especially advantageous to Proton which is currently undergoing a turnaround in its business," it added. - Bernama
