New plans: DiGi

If you own a tablet or smartphone and want to be able to surf the Net with it, now you can with DiGi’s affordable Weekly Prepaid Mobile Internet packages.

By signing up for the Weekly RM3, RM5 or RM7 plan users will be able to surf for seven days.

For the RM3 plan, users can only use WhatsApp and WeChat, as well as access Wikipedia, Gmail, Yahoo! mail, Facebook and Twitter but they must do so via the Opera Mini browser which is available from DiGi.

The RM5 and RM7 plans will enjoy all of the above and will also let users surf the Net freely. However, the RM5 and RM7 plans come with a data cap of 100MB and 250MB respectively. Once the user exceeds the data cap, their surfing speed will be throttled down but the company declined to reveal the actual speed.

For those who want more, they can opt for the Monthly RM30 plan which is valid for 30 days and has a 1GB data cap.

At the same event, the telco also announced enhanced DG SmartPlan (50, 78, 108, 148) plans for its existing and new postpaid customers.

Each of the plan comes with a data cap. With the exception of the SmartPlan 50, DiGi has divided the data cap equally between surfing the Internet and smart applications (which comprise Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and WeChat). The SmartPlan 148, for instance, has a data cap of 6GB — 3GB for Internet and 3GB for smart apps.

Subscribers of SmartPlan 78 and above will also enjoy free calls and SMS. The SmartPlan 148, for instance, comes with free 600 minute of calls and 600 SMSes. Other benefits, include free calls within the network during the weekend, unlimited music streaming via Deezer and free Norton Mobile Security.
