Committed to conservation of tigers

I REFER to the article “Conservation a top priority” (The Star, June 5).

As a recently retired government servant who was given the opportunity to work on Malayan Tiger conservation over the last 30 years, I would like to congratulate the Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) Ministry and the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) for getting the approval of the National Biodiversity Council to undertake the inaugural First National Tiger Survey (NTS) throughout the forest habitats, including Taman Negara and state parks in peninsular Malaysia.
