SHAH ALAM: The magistrate's court here has ordered a businessman to pay RM5,000 to a foreign worker and his employer at a car wash.

Risamuddin Ab Wahab, 36, was also ordered to apologise to Shaheb Ali, whom he hit after accusing the worker of dirtying his car on Saturday.

The video of the incident went viral on social media.

Risamuddin had earlier pleaded guilty to the crime, punishable under Section 325 of the Penal Code.

His counsels Nor Ashikin Kamal and Ahmad Faris Khairudin had requested for their client to be compounded under Section 260 of the Criminal Procedure Code as they had reached a settlement on the amount between Shaheb and his employer, Haziyati Abdul Hamid, who was also present in court.

The settlement also included an open apology from Risamuddin to Shaheb.

Risamuddin, who was standing in the dock, said sorry for his actions and extended his hand to Shaheb.

He was charged with voluntarily causing grievous hurt to Shaheb at a car wash centre at Kampung Baru Subang on Oct 17 at 12.45pm.

‎Risamuddin's counsels later handed over the cash to Shaheb and his employer.
