Ministry urges family-based care for orphans

KUALA LUMPUR: The public have been urged to foster children from orphanages or charity homes to give them a better environment to grow up in.

Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun said under a pilot project in its “family-based care” programme, the mi­­nistry was working with institutions to identify the children and match them up with suitable foster families.
