#AnakAnakMalaysia takes Sydney

PETALING JAYA: The EcoWorld-Star #AnakAnakMalaysia campaign was taken to the international stage with a rip-roaring performance by Malaysian drummers in Sydney.

Against the backdrop of the iconic Sydney Opera House, the in-house group of drummers from Eco World Development Group Bhd attracted a large crowd, who were captivated by the ethnic sounds of the percussion instruments.

The performance also featured a local touch as the group was joined by didgeridoo player Gumaroy Newman.

The campaign, a collaboration between EcoWorld and Star Media Group Bhd (formerly known as Star Publications (M) Bhd), is to remind the people of what it means to be Malaysian and to foster the spirit of unity.

EcoWorld chairman Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin and Star Media Group Bhd group managing director and CEO Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai took the opportunity to spread the #AnakAnakMalaysia message to the spectators, who included many Malaysians residing in the Australian city.

#AnakAnakMalaysia wristbands were also distributed to the Malaysians in the crowd.

During the campaign, which runs until Sept 16, Malaysians are encouraged to creatively express their patriotism by taking a photo with the wristband and hashtagging #AnakAnakMalaysia and sharing them on social media (visit www.anakanakmalaysia.com).

On Friday, the Malaysian-owned EcoWorld also launched its West Village sales gallery in Parramatta, 24km from Sydney.
