Tony Fernandes disappointed with country’s politicians

PETALING JAYA: AirAsia Bhd Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes (pic) has voiced his disappointment at the country’s politicians for failing to put the people first.

In a series of tweets, he pondered if there would ever be a Malaysian political party, which would put the interest of the people above their own ambitions.

“These are very strange times in Malaysia. There is no accountability. No one putting people first. These are disappointing times.

 

“Government and opposition spend so much time on race and religion. Will there ever be a truly Malaysian party that puts people first,” he tweeted last Monday.

“Good education, good hospitals, fair distribution of wealth, an economy that creates jobs, honest clean Government. Transparent leadership,” he said in another tweet, referring to his aspirations for Malaysia.

The AirAsia boss also drew upon his airline’s success story, saying: “Where all Malaysians respect each other's culture, religion but work together to benefit all. If you need an example look at Airasia.”
