Customs Dept taking a flexible approach on errant traders


PUCHONG: The Customs Department is taking a flexible approach and is not out to penalise businesses which have not implemented the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system.

“For now, the operation is focused on dispensing advice and gauging the response of consumers,” said its GST director Datuk Subromaniam Tholasy. “We want to know what’s happening on the ground for the first day.”
