Crimes reduced by 12 percent in 2014, says IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: Police achieved the target for reduction in the crime index under the National Key Result Area (NKRA) for last year, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar‎.

He said overall crime reduced to 128,544 in 2014 from 147,062 cases in 2013 or 12.6%.

Violent crimes showed a reduction of 3,950 cases or 13.4% while property crimes by 12.4% (14,568 cases), he said in his speech at the 208th anniversary of the Royal Malaysian Police.
