KUALA LUMPUR: An Indonesian man was gunned down by two men on a motorcycle along Jalan Raja Bot here, while a waitress was hit in the leg by a stray bullet.

"Two men on a motorcycle wearing full face helmets approached the shop.

"The pillion rider drew a gun and fired four shots at the man," he told reporters at the scene on Wednesday.

He said the man was shot in the back and one of the bullets passed through his body and hit a waitress in the leg.

"The two men then sped off. The man died at the scene while the woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) for treatment," he said.

ACP Khairi added that police had yet to establish a motive for the murder.

"We will acquire CCTV footage from the shops in the area to get a clearer picture of what happened," he said adding that the body was brought to HKL for post mortem.

He requested anybody with information on the case to contact the police hotline at 03-2115 9999.
