The Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 had 227 passengers and 12 crew members from 13 countries, including China, Malaysia, the United States and Australia, on board before it went missing. More than a list of names, they are special and loved - each with a story to tell. These posts are taken from those whose Facebook accounts are open for public viewing.

JUNAIDI MOHD KASSIM
A loving family man whose Facebook posts revolve largely around his children’s report card day, birthday celebrations and tuition, Junaidi Mohd Kassim, 37, from Petaling Jaya has been a flight steward since 1997. The father of two children, aged 9 and 11, once wrote: “If you r not ready to be parents than don’t hv kids, people around you r not your maids (sic)”. Corporate planner Afiz Ayub, 30, said his brother-in-law had behaved strangely before boarding that fateful flight. “He was quieter than usual. He told me to take his car as no one would take care of it”.
ROBERT AND CATHY LAWTON
“Welcome to Poppy’s - where memories are made and grandchildren are spoilt. Open 24 hours.” The sign in front of the Lawtons’ house in Ipswich, Queensland, breaks the heart of neighbours every time they walk pass. The caring couple are greatly missed as they always had time for everyone and anyone in the neighbourhood. Their trip to China was their dream holiday, as seen in Cathy’s excited post on Facebook: “Off to China!”
A big Liverpool supporter, Andrew Nari is also a music fan who listens to Dire Straits, Pink Floyd and Steve Vai. The MAS chief steward from Sibu, Sarawak, poses with Datuk Lee Chong Wei in this FB posting on March 2 as he wishes him good luck at the Birmingham All England Championship.
College mates Hadrien & ZHAO YAN
Wattrelos, 17, and Zhao Yan, 18, had enrolled together at the Lycee Francais International de Pekin. The fun-loving French teenagers look like a cute couple in a photo posted on Wattrelos’s page on July 29, 2013, accompanied by the words “Je t’aime (I love you).” According to his Facebook, Wattrelos’ hometown is Paris but he lives in Beijing.
“Jack arrives into the world 8lb 7oz - 52 cm”, was what proud father Paul Weeks posted on April 10, last year. The 39-year-old mechanical engineer from Christchurch, New Zealand, was based in Perth’s northern suburbs. He had boarded the MH370 flight to Mongolia for his first shift in a fly-in-fly-out job. The father-of-two moved to Australia in 2011 with his wife and two young boys. As the search continues for her missing husband, his distraught wife Danica posted: Thank you all for your thoughts, in a place I never wanted to be, trying to gather strength for my two beautiful boys, miss my darling with all my heart x”. A Lionel Ritchie and Bee Gees fan, Weeks is dearly missed by his sons - three-year-old Lincoln and 10-month-old Jack.
Hebei native Zhao Peng, 24, was a construction worker who completed his contract and was on his way home to China to see his wife and year-old son. He flew with two friends - Wang Yong Qiang, 29, and Yao Li Fei, 30.
