PETALING JAYA: A freak accident on the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) left a driver dead, while his female passenger miraculously escaped with only scratches on her hand.
A police source said that at 11.30pm, Tuesday, the driver, a student in his 20's and a female friend were travelling along KM17.4 of the highway towards Damansara when he reportedly lost control of his car.
The vehicle slammed into the divider on the right and darted onto the left lane where the driver smashed his head on a steel post after being flung out of the window.
A witness, who declined to be named, claimed that he saw the driver attempted to hug the screaming female passenger, which caused him to be flung out of the left front window of the car during the crash.
The deceased was sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for a post-mortem.
