‘Windfall’ for beggars from notable trader


GEORGE TOWN: Businessman Goh Choon Lye – once a household name among developers in the 1990s – was seen giving alms to beggars during the Thnee Kong Seh (Jade Emperor’s birthday) celebration in Air Itam last week.

According to a Chinese newspaper report, Goh, dressed in a T-shirt and a pair of shorts, was spotted giving out RM50 and RM10 notes to beggars lining the route that leads to the Thnee Kong Tnuah (Jade Emperor Pavilion).
