JALAN Bukit Bintang will play host to the BBKLCC ‘World Fiesta’ party today, taking over the streets for a fun-filled evening.

The fiesta will see a street parade of 3,000 costumed dancers representing the diverse colours and cultures of the world’s different regions.

They will be on a procession of vibrant floats along the iconic street which will be decorated with lights for the occasion.

The event promises to light up the Kuala Lumpur sky with a spectacular fireworks display and will also keep the public on their feet through the music arrangements of prominent deejays Joey G and Jesse Voorn.

Organised by the BBKLCC Tourism Association with support from the Tourism and Culture Ministry, World Fiesta will lead up to Visit Malaysia Year 2014 as the country welcomes tourists to Malaysia and to the BBKLCC shopping hub.

The global theme celebrates visitors and tourists from all over the world while identifying Malaysia as a unique travel and shopping destination.

BBKLCC Tourism Association chairman Joyce Yap said: “One of Malaysia’s best attractions is the people.

“Through an integration of ambience, colours, music and excitement, we bring people together, and this makes for one of the fiesta’s signature elements.”

“People search for the ‘experience’ everywhere they travel and this party may just be it as people revel, enjoy and remember,” added committee member Kung Suan Ai.

BBKLCC’s shopping mall members such as Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Suria KLCC, Fahrenheit88, Starhill Gallery and Lot 10 will also have shopping activities, promotions, giveaways with RM120,000 worth of prizes.

The World Fiesta pre-show will commence at 5pm before its official launch at 9pm in front of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur by Tourism Malaysia chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen.
