Kraft recalls its Mac n Cheese – metal bits found in packets

Over 200,000 boxes voluntarily recalled; no injuries reported.

US company Kraft Foods Group has recalled its "Macaroni and Cheese" dinners from the market, in response to red flags raised by consumers.

The company has released an official statement and confirmed it is voluntarily recalling about 242,000 cases of select Macaroni and Cheese dinners because of the possibility that small pieces of metal may be inside the boxes.

Kraft said the decision was made after it received eight consumer contacts about the product, but said no injuries had been reported.

The company added in the statement that recalled boxes are "limited to 7.25-oz Original flavor boxed dinners with the best-when-used-by dates of September 18, 2015, through October 11, 2015”. The recalled products were shipped to customers in the US and “some Caribbean and South American countries – but not to Canada".
