Earnings of oil and gas players likely to remain subdued

KUALA LUMPUR: The earnings of oil and gas (O&G) players will continue to soften as Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) is expected to tighten its capital and operational expenditures following weak crude oil prices.

With such headwinds facing the sector, RHB Research expects the upstream-related expenditure to slow down for both Petronas and other majors as well, transferring down the value chain.
