GELANG PATAH: The RM200mil state-of-the-art Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) football stadium is set to be completed by the end of next year.
The 70,000 sq m stadium will be built on 140,000 sq m land and can accommodate 40,000 spectators.
Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who is also the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president, officiated at the launch of the JDT Stadium Design and Concept at Forest City here yesterday.
He was accompanied by his wife Che Puan Khaleeda Bustamam and their princess Tunku Kalsom Aminah Sofiah Tunku Ismail.
Also present were Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Country Garden Holdings Ltd chief executive officer Mo Bin.
Country Garden Pacificview (CGPV) Sdn Bhd is the developer of the project.
CGPV executive director Datuk Md Othman Yusof said that work on the new stadium for JDT “is running smoothly”.
“Earthworks are under way. This project is expected to be completed before the end of next year,” he said at a press conference after the launch yesterday.
“The stadium comes complete with a natural grass field, advanced sound and live broadcast systems.”
