KUALA LUMPUR: There was nothing to cheer about for Jackie Wong Siew Cheer despite winning a silver in the men’s hammer event at the 17th Mokpo International Throws Competition in South Korea.

The 24-year-old from Sarawak hurled the hammer to a distance of 63.20m in Mokpo on Saturday. It was way off his national record of 64.50m, which he set in the Pahang Open in March.
