Common sense prevails as junior athletes agree to race in world meet


Khairul Hafiz Jantan is set to be drafted into the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games squad after his performance in last month’s World Youth Athletics Championships in Cali, Colombia.

KUALA LUMPUR: Sprinter Khairul Hafiz Jantan has changed his mind and will feature in the Under-20 IAAF World Junior Athletics Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Khairul is the top junior sprinter in Asia after clocking a personal best of 10.36 in the 100m to win gold in the Asian Junior Championships in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on June 4. He also posted 21.15 to win silver in the 200m.
