AFTER e-hailing services are regulated next month, vehicles over three years of age or which have clocked over 150,000km are required to pass bi-annual inspections at Puspakom.
These vehicles will not be allowed for use as e-hailing vehicles upon reaching five years. As such, many drivers with older cars will be buying new vehicles. The move will reduce the number of e-hailing drivers, estimated at around 130,000 with many being part-timers. It will be a boon for full-time drivers earning a living.
