Adopt the harmonious way of the Ranau folk

PHILIP Golingai’s article “Ranau has still got what Malaysia lost” (The Star, Jan 7), which highlighted the harmony of people in Ranau, Sabah caught my eye. It featured the picture of a tudung-clad Ninah Faizul and Catholic nun Lounah Pulis who were at St Peter Claver Church for a Christmas gathering. That is the spirit that should be nurtured and encouraged among all Malaysians. We should all emulate this, thereby uniting all races of diverse religions. All are brothers and sisters in the eyes of God.

Carried to the world audience, this spirit of celebrating each other’s festival will bring about peace and happiness in this troubled world. If there is peace, killing and torture of innocent people will not occur. No religion teaches the slaughter of people and destruction of properties.
