Failing to take off after delays

RECENTLY, my family and I were departing through KLIA2 utilising the service of a budget airline for a long overdue holiday overseas. We checked in on time (more than an hour before departure) as stipulated in the ticket confirmation and as we did not have any check-in baggage, we proceeded to the international departure gates.

We encountered a long queue at the immigration clearance but were initially not worried as we had the new electronic Malaysian passports. Much to our surprise, many of the readers were malfunctioning and people had to re-enter the booths many times to re-scan their passports.
