LAST Thursday, citizens of the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union (EU) after more than 40 years of being a member of one of the world’s most prestigious politico-economic unions of 27-member states.
Based on the referendum conducted by the UK government, 17,410,742 (51.89%) of the British people decided to leave the union while 16,141,241 (48.11%) chose to remain.
