WITH reference to the arguments expressed in the Tribune News Service’s opinion piece “Brazil vote nothing but a coup” (Sunday Star, May 22), a number of clarifications are in order:
1. The impeachment process is regulated by the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil (Article 85), in the event of “crimes of responsibility” believed to be committed by the President of the Republic in the course of a given term.
