Selecting suitable trees

I REFER to the report, “Having an axe to grind” (The Star, May 10), on the felling of three mature and healthy trees in a public field in SS25, Petaling Jaya.

The incident sends a clear message that the regulatory authorities could find themselves under scrutiny and accountability for decisions made on any environmental issue. The residents’ association (RA) found it hard to understand as there was no consultation whatsoever on this matter.
