THE suggestion by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to include corruption studies in schools and universities is rather perplexing. Granted that corruption is a huge concern in Malaysia, but does it warrant such an action?
Matters relating to the curriculum in universities should be left to the academics who are professionally trained to handle the teaching and learning process. All courses and programmes in universities are scrutinised to determine their educative value, relevance to the field of study and impact on personality and society.
