Country not ready for dispensing separation

Patients are not expected to wait more than 15 minutes to receive their medication from the pharmacy at KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital, PJ.

WITH reference to the letter “Work together for better care” (The Star, May 13), I would say it was a thinly-veiled rhetoric in the wake of the Health Minister’s announcement recently (during a briefing at the Health Ministry on the Pharmacy Bill) that it would not support the separation of dispensing from prescribing.

The ministry has done its homework over the past six to 12 months, and the minister said the final decision would be based on feedback from all the stakeholders and not the pharmacists alone.
