Financial misdemeanours and accountability


LATELY, our nation has been rocked by a series of financial irregularities, the latest being the alleged misappropriation of RM107mil of government funds by an officer at the Youth and Sports Ministry.

Those found to be responsible for these fiascos through due process must be made accountable for their actions. For this to happen, the instruments of governance must be impartial and be guided by integrity, honesty and morality. They must represent the people rather than sectarian interests.
