THE “zero pothole” target by 2017 set by the Works Ministry for all roads under its management would be an uphill battle given the current road repair jobs which are generally unsatisfactory and take too long to be undertaken.
The ministry needs to re-look and improve the quality of road resurfacing jobs carried out by the contractors. Currently, most of the road resurfacing work leaves much to be desired in terms of quality and durability.
