Change for the good of pupils

ONE of the aspirations of the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025 (MEB) is to have Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) school-leavers proficient in two or three languages. By the time they finish Form Five, they should have mastered Bahasa Melayu (BM) and English. Their third language could be Chinese, Tamil, Bahasa Arab, French, German, Japanese or others.

Towards this end, the Literacy and Numeracy Screening (Linus) programme has been instituted to gauge and assess the progress of pupils’ language and numeracy learning right from Year One. Remedial works are carried out to correct any shortcoming detected.
