WHILE the quality of life and health issues associated with obesity are well-known (“Dangers of being obese”, The Star, Nov 25), the adverse effects of obesity on the pregnant woman and her developing foetus are equally fraught but seldom discussed.
To begin with, the obese woman trying to conceive may face difficulties as she does not ovulate as regularly or frequently as her slimmer sisters.
