Right from the start, the two by-elections were set to be much more than just replacing the two Barisan Nasional MPs who died in a helicopter crash and everything is about to come to this moment.

RISING emotions, defaced campaign posters and billboards, and grey skies marked the last day of campaigning in Sungai Besar, the “hotter” of the two seats in the twin elections.
